Dawn takes you on the self-improvement journey you didn't realise you needed... Bought to you by a doctor who hasn't had life as sweet as many of her comrades. She knows firsthand just how rubbish life can be, yet has managed to turn her life around for the better!
From relationships to mental health to happiness, make sure you buckle up twice a week (Mondays and Thursdays) the join her and her guests for candid self-improvement. Don't forget of the course, the "weird thoughts" segment, where Dawn and her guests share weird thoughts from their lives.
Dawn says:
Sometimes life reminds me of being in a washing machine. It's a bit spinny and turbulent for a while, but then it stops and gives you a little break before spinning you into oblivion once more. It feels like the washing machine wants to wash something bad out of all of us... positivity.
Some might EVEN say that positivity is shouting from the backseat and no-one wants to listen to it... [backseat positivity] More than once a week, but less than 4 times a week, you can shove me in your auditory canals and listen to me chat about L.I.F.E., self-improvement, mental health and anything else that my little monkey-mind paws can grasp onto.
Sometimes other humans actually dare to join me.
It's candid, it's fun. Woo!
Backseat Positivity
i'm sorry i left you. an update.
Hey there, my dear friends and listeners! I've been on quite the unexpected journey, stretching what was meant to be a short break into an extended hiatus that took me off the grid and gave me a fresh perspective. Despite toting my podcast gear, I relished a pause from the usual recording routine, allowing me to recharge and reflect. That said, I wasn't entirely off the radar; I managed to share a delightful episode featuring the ever-insightful Sophie, who offered her gems of wisdom, a conversation that shouldn't be missed.
The big news is the launch of our dedicated YouTube channel, Backseat Positivity, which marks a new chapter for our podcast adventures. It's a hive of activity where our community can gather, and I'm deep in the throes of moving episodes over to this fresh space – all while keeping things delightfully unpolished, as you've come to love. The behind-the-scenes efforts are hefty, and I'm all about preserving sanity over sticking to an unyielding schedule. So I'm plotting a grand return around the end of June or July, armed with episodes that promise to make the wait utterly worthwhile. Stick around, because we're about to get into some really good stuff together with our next batch of conversations.
Please consider helping me out, I'd seriously super appreciate it! <3

guys, I have some explaining to do. I'm so sorry. Where have I been? I know if you've listened to my recent episodes, you'll know that I've been traveling away for two uh well, it was supposed to be one month or maybe six weeks. Anyway, I recorded eight episodes, which was enough for me to go away for a month, and then I just kind of stayed and stayed longer and then stayed a bit more longer. I didn't have any of my. Well, I did have some podcast recording equipment with me, but you know what? It was nice to have some time off.
Speaker 1:And since I've been back, I have been working on the podcast, but I've not been recording any more episodes apart from that one I literally just released with Sophie and you can probably hear my dog in the background. I'm recording this downstairs and, like as soon as I started talking, she was like hello, pay attention to me. So I'm so sorry if you can hear her panting and um, moving around. She's being really annoying today. I don't know why. She's just like absolutely dying for my attention, like looking at me all the time. You know the vibe. Anyway, what I've been doing is I've created a new YouTube channel for the podcast itself and it's called Backseat Positivity on YouTube, because I was using my actual YouTube channel for everything and it just honestly looked like a mess. And I also think there are some people who wanna watch the podcast, who don't want to watch my YouTube channel and therefore they won't subscribe. And then there are people who don't wanna watch my podcast, who want to watch my YouTube channel, but are then getting inundated and bombarded with podcasts that they don't care about. So I'm like, right, let's separate them. Now this is where things get tricky, because separating them is not an easy task, right, I have to download all of the episodes, re-upload them and then redo all of the you know tags and the descriptions and the titles. And I don't do thumbnails because I kind of gave up on that a while ago. I just keep it raw AF, and one of my favourite terms that I learnt from an American guy whilst I was travelling was raw dogging. So I like raw dogging, the thumbnails. Anyway, we've got a few subscribers on the YouTube channel already. If you do want to go check it out, you can. It's just at Backseat Positivity on YouTube and, um, I'm basically putting a lot of my time into that at the moment. I'm not gonna lie, and I was.
Speaker 1:When I got back from traveling I was like super stressed because I had eight episodes to of podcast video to edit and upload. Now it's maybe not like a huge problem, but to then add extra episodes, you know doing two more a week, extra episodes onto the ones that I'm already I already need to edit and they take like a long time to edit. It's not like a you know, quick wham bam. Thank you, ma'am. It's like you know I need to. Anyway, it's not as quick as you think. It probably takes like it doesn't take that long, but in total, you know probably about an hour for each episode, I would say, and then every episode that I do, I basically need to plan it so. So that's like another hour. So for every, you know half an hour episode that you see there's back work that goes into it. So I thought you know what, dawn, your mental health is more important. Sorry guys, I know, but it is, and I don't want to stress myself out trying to maintain doing two episodes a week whilst also starting this new YouTube channel, uploading everything onto there and putting a lot of time and effort into that.
Speaker 1:At the moment and I hope to be back. The answer is okay, when am I back? That's the question. I suppose I didn't actually ask it, but that is the question. You know where have you been and what are you doing, and when are you back? So I am coming back. That's the answer, but I don't quite know when. I'm thinking it will probably be around about a month, so it's currently the end of May, so I'm thinking end of June, maybe July.
Speaker 1:I'm going to take my time, you know, because I've got to work. I've got, you know, I've got to go to work and I have a job. I also have another job and then I have a YouTube channel. So, guys, I am working towards it, but I guess this is kind of like. You know, what I learned in Asia was life is too important to be stressed all the time and I regularly stress myself out and burn myself out for life, pretty much no reason. You know, I don't have a contract. No one's making me upload, it's myself. I'm pushing myself really, really hard to try and get the content out to you guys, and I'm sure you don't mind now that you've got an explanation, you might not have minded anyway.
Speaker 1:But anyway, guys, thank you so much for listening to this episode a very short one, but I really wanted to give you an update and I kind of felt like a little bit guilty, like a little bit bad, like oh, I'm so naughty, what am I doing? I did publish that sneaky one with Sophie because it just felt right. You know, I was like it feels right, I feel like I should do it, I feel like I should post it, so I just did it and I have no regrets. That was like a one and a half hour episode. Um, you know, just us chatting about, uh, basically having a quarter life crisis and career goals, etc. Moving back in with your parents. So go have a listen to that one. Um, that would be a nice one to just like put on whilst you're in the car on a really long journey, or because it's like a chat between friends, you know, and you can just get involved.
Speaker 1:Anyway, like I said, I will be back. It might take me a while. I might pop out the odd episode. Um, when Sophie comes, I might save them up. Who knows, it will be a mystery to me and to you, but anyway, thank you for listening. Um, yeah, do go check out my podcast on youtube if you fancy it, but I understand. If you really can't be asked, I get it. Um, and yeah, I will speak to you soon. Maybe I'll keep you updated. Um, yeah, thanks for being a a supporter, a listener, uh, a friend. Anyway, bye.
